Final-year fashion design students at ISDI – School of Design & Innovation got an invaluable glimpse into the fashion industry through a hands-on workshop led by renowned fashion consultant Anubhuti Verma. The session, which focused on digital fashion campaigns, art direction and contemporary styling, was part of the university\u2019s ongoing initiative to provide industry-integrated learning experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over a decade of experience and a portfolio that includes major brands like Myntra, Verma brought real-world expertise into the classroom. Her session didn\u2019t just offer theoretical knowledge\u2014it emphasised actionable insights and practical skills critical to succeeding in today’s digital-first fashion landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning Through Experience<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The workshop offered students direct exposure to how fashion campaigns are conceptualised and executed in the industry. They learned how digital platforms are reshaping branding strategies for fashion labels and the importance of visually coherent, story-driven campaigns. Through case studies and first-hand accounts, students gained a deeper understanding of the end-to-end creative process\u2014from ideation and mood board creation to final execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hands-On Styling Challenges Encourage Creativity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the standout elements of the session was a live styling exercise where students styled spring-summer looks using garments exchanged with peers. This collaborative twist allowed students to break out of their personal aesthetic bubbles and adapt to new creative directions\u2014much like in professional styling teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exercise underscored essential soft skills such as collaboration, flexibility and visual storytelling, key for budding stylists and art directors in an increasingly diverse and global fashion market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students also explored the strategic side of campaign creation. Verma detailed how location, casting and budget constraints shape a campaign\u2019s narrative, giving students a realistic view of industry challenges. A strong emphasis was placed on inclusive casting\u2014a reflection of the growing industry trend toward representing a broader spectrum of identities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By bringing professionals like Anubhuti Verma into the classroom, ISDI ensures its students don\u2019t just graduate with technical proficiency but with a clear understanding of current industry dynamics.
