The Holi Colours project trains members to convert used flowers collected from temples into natural, safe, chemical-free colours.

These handcrafted colours are made through a meticulous process of drying, grinding and natural blending, preserving both tradition and the environment. Each packet sold supports employment, self-esteem and empowerment for differently abled individuals who are often overlooked in mainstream workplaces.

The ATLAS Contribution: Design, Outreach and Amplification

Students from ATLAS SkillTech University engaged with the project across multiple touchpoints providing design support, digital storytelling and social media strategy to enhance its visibility and impact.

They contributed by:
• Designing attractive and informative packaging for the colour sets
• Developing a cohesive brand identity for social media
• Crafting compelling campaign content that communicated both the product and its social impact
• Supporting distribution channels and engaging with communities to drive awareness and sales

Through this immersive, hands-on experience, students were able to apply their skills in branding, marketing and communication for a meaningful cause, reaffirming the importance of purpose-led design and social entrepreneurship.

Celebrating a More Inclusive Holi

The collaboration culminated in a vibrant Holi celebration, where colours were not just thrown, but felt. It was a moment to celebrate diversity, dignity, and the idea that true festivity lies in shared purpose.

By participating in Project Petalists, ATLAS students experienced first-hand how design and business thinking can solve real-world problems and build inclusive ecosystems that create lasting social value.

ATLAS SkillTech University’s involvement in Project Petalists Holi Colours is a powerful reminder that innovation and compassion can go hand in hand.
