ATLAS SkillTech University \u00d7 Association of Indian Universities (AIU) \u2014 FDP Highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ATLAS SkillTech University, in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), successfully hosted a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP)<\/strong> on \u201cPedagogy 4.0: Redefining Education with MOOCs & Digital Content Development.\u201d<\/em>

With over 100 enthusiastic participants from across the country, the FDP offered a comprehensive immersion into the future of teaching\u2014where digital innovation, learner-centric design and pedagogical empathy converge to redefine higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valedictory Address by Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Mittal delivered an inspiring valedictory speech on the future of Indian higher education. She emphasised:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • the national importance of MOOCs and SWAYAM<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • faculty capacity-building in digital content creation<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • the ethical, responsible use of AI tools like ChatGPT<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • and the vision of Pedagogy 4.0<\/strong>\u2014innovation, multidisciplinarity, and technology-driven learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Her message reinforced the mission of the FDP: preparing educators for a future where digital learning is personal, equitable and transformative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Day 1 \u2014 Reimagining MOOCs for the Future of Learning<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The FDP commenced with an inspiring keynote by Dr. Sameer Sahasrabudhe<\/strong>, Professor of Practice (Design), IIT Gandhinagar & Vice President, EdTech Society. Presenting Pedagogy 4.0<\/em> as the \u201ctonal center\u201d of digital education, he emphasised that MOOC demands structure, assessments, community, nudges, and empathy-centric design. His session reframed MOOCs as dynamic, participatory ecosystems rather than one-way information broadcasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This was followed by an enriching session from Dr. Sarika Chouhan Shekhawat<\/strong>, Associate Professor & AIU\u2013ATLAS AADC Coordinator, who introduced the Learner-Centric MOOC (LCM) Model<\/strong>. She demonstrated how LeD, LbD, LxT, and LxI frameworks transform passive videos into reflective, interactive, inclusive learning experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The day set the tone for a deeply transformative FDP\u2014one grounded in structure, empathy and meaningful digital design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Day 2 \u2014 Designing High-Engagement Online Learning<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Day 2 featured an intensive hands-on workshop led by Mr. Ganesh Lokhande<\/strong>, Director (Online Education), YCMOU & Founder, Vcan Digital Solutions. He unpacked the art and science of crafting Learning Dialogues (LeDs)\u2014short, crisp, interactive micro-lessons that elevate the learner experience. Participants learned how strategically placed pauses, focused explanations, visual segmentation and reflection prompts can dramatically improve cognitive engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Attendees drafted LeD scripts, receiving personalised feedback on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • script length vs. recording duration<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • cognitive load & concept clarity<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • pacing, flow, and micro-learning ratios<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Mr. Lokhande\u2019s core message resonated widely: \u201cInstructional design is not about information\u2014 it is about shaping learning experiences that stay with the learner.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Day 3 \u2014 Activity-Driven Learning Through LbD<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Day 3 was a deep dive into learning by doing<\/em>, led by Dr. Krishna Kanta Roy<\/strong>, Assistant Professor, Symbiosis International University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Through an active, workshop-style format, participants explored how LbD activities<\/strong>\u2014MCQs, numerical tasks, drag-and-drop formats and concept-map completions\u2014drive retention, understanding and immediate feedback. Participants also experienced LeD Reflection Spots<\/strong> using EdPuzzle, helping them view interaction through the learner\u2019s lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The session closed with educators designing their own LbD activities and exchanging peer feedback on alignment, clarity and conceptual depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Day 4 \u2014 Designing Peer Interaction & Learner Trajectories<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Day 4 explored two pillars of learner-centric MOOCs: LxI (Learner eXperience Interaction)<\/strong> and LxT (Learner eXtension Trajectories)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      LxI with Daisy Wadhwa<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Ms. Daisy Wadhwa<\/strong>, Assistant Professor & Head of Computer Science & Applications, GNKCW (Ludhiana), showcased how the LxI cycle\u2014 Focus Question \u2192 Peer Interaction \u2192 Reflection Quiz<\/strong> creates structured, motivating and meaningful learner engagement. She highlighted how high-quality focus questions and guided responses transform discussion forums from passive spaces into active learning hubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      LxT & MOOC Orchestration with Divya Thakur<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Ms. Divya Thakur<\/strong>, Assistant Professor at ATLAS, simplified how LxTs help instructors address diverse learning needs through curated content extensions paired with assimilation quizzes. She also stressed the importance of MOOC orchestration<\/strong>\u2014analytics, nudges, reminders, and timely instructor actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      These sessions helped educators understand how to build learning environments where peer interaction, diversity and timely support drive learner success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Day 5 \u2014 Practical MOOC Design & Valedictory Reflections<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      The final day featured three insightful sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Anand Kopare<\/strong> shared a step-by-step guide on designing impactful MOOCs\u2014from topic selection to learner engagement, assessment flow, and scalability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Dr. Varsha Agarwal<\/strong> provided a clear roadmap for preparing strong MOOC proposals aligned with national norms and quality benchmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
