Using Maximal Marginal Relevance (MMR)<\/strong>, Tarun demonstrated how developers can significantly improve the quality and diversity of search outcomes. Instead of returning multiple similar answers, MMR enables search systems to prioritise varied yet relevant information, creating a far richer user experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For students, this session illustrated that designing intelligent systems goes beyond machine learning models. It also requires thoughtful information retrieval strategies that improve usability, efficiency and decision-making.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
