Fashion Design students at A & L Exports<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Junior and Senior Year Fashion Design students recently visited two leading export houses- A & L Exports and Marsil Exports, where they witnessed the work produced for many international high fashion brands. It was a great immersive learning experience for the student designers to enhance their understanding of the global supply and value chain that sustains today’s global fashion industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the export houses service the top high fashion international brands, developing exquisite embroideries season after season. On these visits, students developed their understanding of how export houses work with international clients, how designs are developed, how ethics is so important to keep the trust intact in international business relations, how creative production operates and the value of building a rich archive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visits also underlined India’s rich cultural heritage, its phenomenal range of artisanal techniques developed over generations and its contribution to the contemporary business world. Students were proud to know that embroidery, rooted in our social customs and culture, is India’s biggest contribution to global fashion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
