In a world dominated by screens and rapid digitalisation, where attention spans are dwindling, ATLAS SkillTech University has taken a bold step towards reviving the age-old joy of reading. On the occasion of the 131st<\/sup> birth anniversary of Dr. S R Ranganathan, known as the father of library science, the university celebrated the event ‘Book Nook’ with great enthusiasm. This event marked the inauguration of the ATLAS Book Club, a remarkable initiative aimed at fostering a love for books and literature among the new generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honouring Dr. S R Ranganathan: The Trailblazer of Library Science<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr. S R Ranganathan’s contribution to the world of library science cannot be overstated. His five laws of library science and his emphasis on user-centered principles revolutionised the way information is organised and accessed in libraries worldwide. As a Padmashree award winner, he also established India’s first library school in Madras, Chennai, leaving an indelible mark on the field. Countless librarians across the globe continue to draw inspiration from his principles of efficient and accessible information organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted that reading is the cornerstone of becoming a writer. Reading not only broadens one’s horizons but also hones their writing skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mehta’s journey from writing a book on Shivaji Maharaj to crafting an illustrative book on existentialism (Kashti) showcases the versatility of writing. He encouraged writers to explore different genres and forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
