Biography

Professor Marwan Al-Akaidi, General Director for the Middle East & Turkey for the RUR Universities Ranking and co-founder of Eurosis, is a globally recognized leader in Computer Science and Engineering. Holding BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees from Loughborough University, UK, and prestigious accreditations including CEng, CITP, FIET, FBCS, and FIAP, he has transformed institutions into hubs of innovation and research.

At De Montfort University, UK, as Head of Engineering & Technology, he launched the Media Studio and Creative Technology programs with the BBC, establishing benchmarks in media technology education. As Vice President of Academic Affairs at the Arab Open University, he expanded accredited programs, introduced MOOCs and blended learning to the MENA region, and launched two international journals. At the American University in the Emirates, he founded the Blockchain Centre in collaboration with Dubai Blockchain, chaired international conferences, and advanced research in emerging technologies.

Professor Al-Akaidi has forged 50+ global partnerships with universities and corporations such as Rolls Royce, Toyota, and Nokia, supervised 45 PhDs and 100+ MScs, and authored 300+ publications. A visionary educator, he integrates cutting-edge technologies with impactful mentorship.
