Biography

Prof. Michael Keppell is an internationally recognized leader in higher education and educational technology, currently serving as a Higher Education Expert at Excelsia College, Australia. With a career dedicated to innovative learning design, he has authored five books and over 100 peer-reviewed articles, contributing to research projects valued at AUD 16 million.

Passionate about transforming learning and teaching, Prof. Keppell has designed institution-wide professional development programs and created award-winning educational resources that integrate seamlessly into curricula. His expertise spans personalized and blended learning, learning spaces, higher education pedagogy, authentic assessment, and transformative learning through design-based research.

A strong advocate of collaboration, he has led multinational research and cross-institutional initiatives that shape the future of education globally. As President of ASCILITE (2000–2011), he advanced technology-enhanced learning and was honored with Life Membership in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field.
