With elements brought in from Indian, Japanese and European styles, Woodcut Printmaking is an engaging method of growing analogue skills using classical techniques and materials.

Storytelling in India has a long standing oral tradition, but traditional embroidery also conveys powerful stories. The workshop aims to introduce the participants to this rich heritage, and give them an opportunity to explore the space of storytelling and embroidery. The workshop encourages people to explore their own stories of their life/ everyday things they see around them and create a visual narrative on the cloth.

Saharanpur, a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, has a rich cultural history that dates back to 2000 B.C. Saharanpur is well-known for its exquisite woodwork handicrafts. Products vary from household implements to handcrafted furniture and temples. More intricate and accurate carvings are made using teak wood, whereas lesser carvings are usually done using Sheesham wood. Saharanpur's artisans do exquisitely detailed work and exceptional wood quality distinguish their creations from others. This workshop aims to celebrate and promote the craftsmanship of Naqshe Kaam by providing a platform for both the artisan and the participant to create one of a kind products and engage in a hands-on learning experience. The workshop will feature live demonstrations by expert craftsmen specializing in this intricate art form. A space will be created to allow for the participants to engage and create their own handcrafted wooden items.
