Course Objectives
This will be an introductory course on the basic concepts of film & video editing, and the various
building blocks that comprise the post-production process of filmmaking.
This course has been designed keeping both the beginners as well as the intermediate level participants in mind.
The objective of this course would be to enjoy the proceedings, whilst also making it an engaging & an equally nourishing learning experience about one of the core aspects of filmmaking i.e. Editing/Post-Production.
A set of 2-3 intensive yet fun editing exercises and a few mini-exercises will be shared with the participants during the tenure of the course. The participants would then have to build short narrative edits with the provided resources.
Course Outcomes
Understanding editing and the various aims, objectives and principles of editing.
Understanding the creative and storytelling aspects of editing - not just the technical aspects.
Understanding important concepts like flow, beats, pacing, rhythm & narrative structuring.
Another important idea behind this course is to help the participants get acquainted with the systematic and highly disciplined workflow methodology that is involved in editing & post-producing a film/video.
