ATLAS ISME School of Management & Entrepreneurship recently hosted an exciting event, the Accepted Students Day, for the incoming MBA cohort of 2025. This event brought together 340 prospective MBA students and their parents to experience the vibrant atmosphere of ATLAS and gain valuable insights into the program, faculty and campus life. The event was designed to create a sense of community among the students, familiarise them with the university and introduce them to the ATLAS Family.

Dr. Indu Shahani: Leading the SkillTech Model at ATLAS

Dr. Indu Shahani, the Founding President & Chancellor of ATLAS SkillTech University, played a key role in welcoming the new batch and setting the tone for their journey at ATLAS. In her speech, Dr. Shahani highlighted the unique SkillTech Model of ATLAS, which focuses on delivering new age skills education using emerging technologies and industry-integrated learning.

Emphasising Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Quality Education

She emphasised the university’s commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation, quality education, industry integration, networking and placement opportunities. Dr. Shahani proudly presented the achievements and highlights of the previous MBA batch, inspiring the incoming students with the potential and possibilities that lie ahead.

The Skills and Tech Tools of the Future: Insights from the Students

One of the highlights of the event was Dr. Shahani’s engagement with the students through mentimeter polls. She encouraged the students to share the skills they wanted to learn during their time at ATLAS. The responses included a wide range of skills such as communication, management, leadership, networking, entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and more. Additionally, the students expressed their interest in acquiring various tech skills and digital tools like Excel, Data Visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau, ethical hacking and project management softwares. Dr. Shahani assured the students that many of these skills were already part of the curriculum and that the university would incorporate other relevant skills to provide a holistic learning experience.

Encouragement from Distinguished Academic Leaders

The event became even more memorable when Dr. Shahani shared a video message from Shrikant Datar, the Dean of the Harvard Business School, who wished the students all the best for their future endeavors. The students and parents were delighted to receive such encouraging words from a distinguished academic leader.

Introducing the Faculty: Guiding the Students’ Journey

To further acquaint the students with the ATLAS community, Prof. Heena Thakkar, the Pro Vice Chancellor of ATLAS SkillTech University, introduced the faculty members. This provided an opportunity for the students to familiarize themselves with the educators who would guide them on their MBA journey.

Decoding the Demographics: Diversity and Experience of the New Batch

Alok Baptist, Director of Outreach & Admissions, in his session, decoded the demographics of the new MBA batch of 2025. He highlighted that out of over 1500 applications received, only 340 students are selected for this year’s program. The batch showcases an impressive gender diversity with 38% girls and 62% boys. Furthermore, 57% of the students have prior work or internship experience. The students hail from various educational backgrounds, including disciplines such as BA, B.Com, BBA, BMM, BAF, B.Arch, BBI, BMS, B.Voc TTM, B.Sc, B.Tech, BALLB, BFM, and more. The batch also boasts an international presence with students from three different countries, representing over 20 states, 70 cities and 169 colleges.

Beyond Academics: Celebrating Extracurricular Achievements

The students of the incoming batch are not just academically inclined but also excel in extracurricular activities. Their achievements range from being state-level badminton players, state-level chess player to securing positions in various competitions such as abacus and mental arithmetic, debate competitions, basketball tournaments and more. The diversity of talent among the students promises a vibrant and dynamic learning environment at ATLAS.

Leadership Series: Preparing for the Business World of Tomorrow

Dr. Zuleika Homavazir, Director of Outreach & Admissions, introduced the Leadership Series scheduled to commence on 12th July 2023. This series aimed to provide the MBA students with insights into future job prospects, the power of research, corporate etiquettes, career readiness, digital marketing, creative expressions, teamwork and leadership, navigating the VUCA world, storytelling, and entrepreneurial thinking. The series consisted of lectures, experiential learning, industry expert sessions, workshops, panel discussions, and surprise activities. This holistic approach to leadership development would equip the students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers.

Alumni Inspiration: Mansi Mishra’s Journey at ATLAS ISME

To offer a glimpse into the real-life experiences of an ATLAS MBA student, Mansi Mishra, an ATLAS MBA Alumna, shared her journey and the opportunities she encountered during her time at ATLAS. Her experiences and achievements served as an inspiration to the incoming students, illustrating the potential for growth and success within the ATLAS community.

Today, I stand before you as an MBA graduate, an orator, a writer, a brand strategist, but most importantly, a confident individual who aspires to empower millions more. I was once the girl who just wanted a degree and I took one step at a time. Because, in the end, it’s about discovering who you are and the impact you can make on this world.

Unveiling the MBA Syllabus: Continuous Improvement and Specialisation Options

Dr. Parag Amin, Director- MBA provided an overview of the MBA syllabus for the batch of 2023-25, highlighting the continuous efforts of ATLAS to improve the curriculum based on feedback from recruiters. ATLAS aimed to make its students ’employment ready’ by imparting knowledge, skills and the right attitude. Dr. Amin mentioned the introduction of dual major specialisations and hyper specialisation options, allowing students to tailor their MBA experience to their specific interests and career goals. He took the students through the in-depth syllabus for each trimester, giving them a glimpse of the comprehensive and contemporary knowledge they would gain during their MBA journey.

Navigating Career Services: Support and Opportunities at ATLAS

Manthan Gala, Associate Director of Strategy & Partnership, provided valuable insights into ATLAS career services, including the FYMBA (First Year MBA) internship process, training approaches, job roles, corporate internships, and internship glimpses from previous batches. This information gave the students and parents a clear understanding of the support and guidance ATLAS provides to ensure successful internships and future career opportunities.

Building a Sense of Community

The ATLAS MBA Accepted Students Day concluded with a sense of excitement and anticipation for the future business leaders of #ATLASMBA2025.
