Unveiling the Secrets of Success: Boris Gomes from Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Inspires ATLAS ISDI Students

In the ever-evolving world of design and innovation, staying ahead of the curve is crucial. At ATLAS ISDI – School of Design & Innovation, we understand this and we are dedicated to providing our students with industry-integrated learning experiences that prepare them to excel in their careers. A recent event exemplified our commitment to this mission and showcased the incredible achievements of our alumni in the design industry.
Boris Gomes’ Inspiring Session: ‘The Joy of Being an Evangelist’

Boris Gomes, a leading figure in Experience Design at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, recently conducted an engaging session exclusively for our B. Des (Bachelor of Design) students. This session wasn’t just an ordinary talk; it was a golden opportunity for our students to delve deep into the world of design and and explore exciting possibilities with a prestigious organisation like Dr. Reddy’s.

During his presentation, Mr. Gomes offered valuable insights and shared practical strategies that he has successfully implemented at Dr. Reddy’s. Some key takeaways from his session included:
Elevate Professionalism
Instead of solely focusing on visual aesthetics, professionals should aim to stand out through their insights and behavior within the organisation. Being a true professional extends beyond appearances.
Stay Focused
When faced with overwhelming content or topics, designers should resist the urge to zone out. Staying focused for just a few extra minutes can significantly enhance their contribution to a project.
Take Ownership
Designers should not shy away from administrative tasks like scheduling meetings, documenting minutes, or defining action points. These responsibilities are essential for taking full ownership of a project.
Strategic Presentation
Start presentations by highlighting the business objectives and metrics for success. Conclude meetings with clear next steps for the project, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals.
Be an Internal Influencer
To establish the strength and impact of design within the organisation, designers should actively discuss design and design thinking on various platforms, both within and outside the company.
These takeaways encapsulate the essence of Boris Gomes’ insights and provide actionable strategies for designers to excel in their roles within non-design organisations.
