From Campus to Catwalk: ATLAS ISDI’s Fashion Design Stars Shine Bright

Shivanee Saraf – Class of 2019

One of our notable alumni, Shivanee Saraf, from the Class of 2019, recently made waves in the fashion industry by showcasing her latest collection from her label, Barrooni, at the prestigious Bombay Times Fashion Week. What made her showcase even more special was having actress Debina Bonnerjee, along with her two adorable baby girls, as her showstopper. The heartwarming twist to this story is that Shivanee had been an ardent fan of Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary since she was young, collecting pictures of them for her slam book. They not only graced her show but also joined her for press interviews, making it a surreal dream come true.

Ruchira Sawant – Sophomore Year Student

Our students’ success doesn’t just end with our alumni. Sophomore year Fashion Design student Ruchira Sawant has been making a name for herself in the modeling world. She has had the privilege of walking the ramp for renowned designers like Monisha Jaising at the Lakme Fashion Week. Ruchira’s poise and grace on the runway are a testament to the quality of education and opportunities provided by ATLAS ISDI.

Vishwa Patel – Class of 2022

Vishwa Patel, a graduate from the Class of 2022, has been championing sustainable fashion. Working with the brand Gingerblu, Vishwa managed a design team that collaborated with women weavers from nine different states of India. Together, they created handwoven and handcrafted apparel for a fashion show presentation in the fashion capital of the world, New York City. The show was organised by Fempowerment, an organisation dedicated to increasing the economic participation of rural women and was inaugurated by fashion veteran Fern Mallis.

Rahul Mondal – Class of 2021

Rahul Mondal, an alumnus from the Class of 2021, has embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of fashion. He has recently opened a studio space in Lower Parel, dedicated to authentic handloom and exquisite handcrafted sarees. Rahul’s passion for preserving and promoting traditional Indian crafts is evident in his work. While managing his studio, he also juggles a job at Marsil Exports. He extends a warm invitation to all to visit his studio and experience the beauty of Indian handcrafted textiles.

Riya Mehta – Senior Year FD Student : Cover Girl Competition

A group of our senior year Fashion Design students had the privilege of collaborating with students from Lakme Academy for the Cover Girl competition in association with Elle Magazine. ATLAS ISDI student Riya Mehta played a pivotal role as a designer in the Silver Winning Team at the National Level, demonstrating exceptional talent and boundless creativity. It’s a testament to the caliber of our students and the invaluable opportunities we provide to prepare them for the competitive world of fashion.
