ATLAS ISDI Interior and Product Design Students Gain Global Design Exposure in Paris Immersion

Paris, the world’s design capital, became the classroom for Interior and Product Design students of ATLAS ISDI – School of Design & Innovation as they embarked on an extraordinary Global Immersion experience. Over eight days, students explored the finest in architecture, design innovation, craftsmanship and cultural heritage, gaining invaluable international exposure that will shape their creative journeys.
Exploring Architectural Marvels & Design Landmarks

Paris welcomed the students with its grandeur and artistic legacy, providing inspiration at every turn. From the bustling Champs-Élysées to the towering Arc de Triomphe, students analysed the intricate details of historical monuments that have influenced global design aesthetics for centuries. The Eiffel Tower, with its timeless elegance, offered a breathtaking perspective on structural innovation and engineering brilliance.

Stepping into the Louvre Pyramid and the Centre Pompidou, students discovered how contrasting architectural styles—historic and modern—can coexist in perfect harmony. The Louvre Pyramid, a striking glass structure within a classical setting, exemplified the beauty of blending contemporary vision with tradition. At Centre Pompidou, they explored avant-garde spatial concepts and high-tech architecture, broadening their understanding of functional, flexible design.
Industry Exposure: Maison & Objet, Design Studios- Galerie Kreo, La Compagnie du Verre and Laetitia Perrin Studios

A key highlight of the immersion was the opportunity to engage with industry leaders at the prestigious Maison & Objet trade fair. Under the guidance of designers Sara and Fanny, students participated in a professional internship, gaining hands-on experience in project concept development, product sourcing, material innovation and brand storytelling. The fair’s diverse exhibits introduced them to emerging trends in sustainable design, cutting-edge materials and the evolving role of craftsmanship in contemporary product design.

Beyond Maison & Objet, visits to renowned design studios such as Galerie Kreo, La Compagnie du Verre and Laetitia Perrin Studios provided students with deep insights into material experimentation and glass artistry. Engaging with experts in the field, they explored how tradition and modernity intersect to create groundbreaking designs.
A Deep Dive into Craftsmanship & Material Innovation

The immersion program was a celebration of craftsmanship, showcasing the intricate work behind interior and product design. Atelier Tollis exposed Interior Design students to the artistry of bespoke furniture-making, while Product Design students uncovered the evolution of industrial design at the Musée des Arts et Métiers.
A visit to Marché Aux Puces, one of the world’s largest flea markets, highlighted the significance of repurposing and historical influences in design. Students discovered vintage treasures, rare artifacts and classic design inspirations, reinforcing the idea that design is an evolving dialogue between past and future.
The Art of Storytelling Through Design

Paris is a city of stories, and students witnessed first-hand how design and storytelling go hand in hand. A visit to the Palace of Versailles revealed the art of spatial storytelling, where baroque architecture, intricate interiors, and vast gardens narrated the grandeur of a bygone era.

Meanwhile, a group of students explored Disneyland Paris, where experiential design and immersive storytelling took center stage. They analyzed the strategic use of colour, lighting and themed environments, understanding how fantasy and creativity translate into tangible design experiences.
Luxury Retail & Visual Merchandising

To further expand their design acumen, students examined commercial space planning, retail design, and visual merchandising at Val d’Europe and La Vallée Outlet Village. Observing high-end brands, they learned how retail spaces are curated to enhance customer experiences and drive engagement through immersive branding strategies.
A Cultural Tapestry of Art

Beyond structured learning, students soaked in the vibrant cultural scene of Paris. The bohemian charm of Montmartre provided a deep dive into artistic expression, as students wandered through its cobbled streets, interacted with local artists, and admired the street culture that has inspired generations of creators. At the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, they marvelled at the fusion of Romanesque and Byzantine architecture, reflecting on the role of spirituality in design.
Celebrating Creativity & Shared Experiences
Amidst intensive learning, students embraced moments of camaraderie and joy. A Seine River cruise offered a magical night-time view of Paris, while a karaoke and tapas night allowed them to celebrate their shared experiences in a city that had become their creative playground.
A Global Perspective on Design

The Paris Global Immersion was more than just an academic journey; it was a transformative experience that broadened students’ perspectives on international design trends, craftsmanship and innovation. From historical grandeur to futuristic concepts, they returned with enriched knowledge, fresh inspiration and a deeper appreciation for the art and science of design.
With newfound confidence and a wealth of experiences, these young designers are ready to shape the future of Interior and Product Design—taking inspiration from the past, embracing the present, and crafting visionary designs for tomorrow.
