Discovery Day Highlights: A Creative Preview of ATLAS Summer School
  • PublishedJanuary 29, 2026

The Discovery Day welcomed students from Classes 8–12 along with their parents to experience the campus firsthand. The day offered a deeper insight into the ATLAS Summer School, a two-week, immersive program for students from Classes 8–12 that introduces them to design, technology, management and entrepreneurship through hands-on, experiential learning. From studios to labs, the campus transformed into a living showcase of ideas, experimentation and student-led innovation.

Works by ISDI students and previous Summer School participants were displayed across spaces, giving visitors a tangible sense of the creative process and outcomes they could expect during the program.

Learning by Doing, Guided by Experts

The Discovery Day was curated to help students and parents understand the kind of work participants would engage in during the program, guided by experienced faculty and supported by state-of-the-art facilities. It reinforced the idea that learning at ATLAS is not about passive observation but active creation.

By witnessing student work across disciplines, visitors gained confidence in how the Summer School nurtures creativity, builds skills and encourages students to think differently.

Design Summer School: Creativity Starts Here

The ISDI Summer School is a creative playground for students in Classes 8–12 who are curious about design and innovation. Through hands-on projects, studio-based learning, and real-world problem-solving, students explore how ideas transform into meaningful designs. From experimenting with materials and technology to building strong visual thinking and creative confidence, the program offers an inspiring introduction to the world of design, guided by experienced faculty and shaped by industry-driven learning.

Craft, Clothing and Careful Hands

Mannequins dressed in garments designed and handmade by students highlighted exceptional craftsmanship and creative thinking. These pieces reflected not only design aesthetics but also the patience, skill and conceptual depth behind every stitch and silhouette.

Nearby, an extensive display of magazines showcased how students interpret editorial design in innovative ways. Each magazine reflected strong visual storytelling, thoughtful layouts, and a fresh approach to print, reminding visitors that creativity thrives even beyond screens.

Adding to this were displays of packaging designs and card games that were both visually striking and thoughtfully executed. These projects demonstrated how everyday objects can become meaningful design experiences when aesthetics and function come together.

From Materials to Models

The Open Day also spotlighted students’ hands-on skills with materials such as MDF, jute rope, dowels, and file card. Visitors could see a scaled down version of the space designed and constructed entirely by students, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how ideas evolve from sketches into physical environments.

A live 3D printer demonstration further captured attention, showing how digital designs take physical form layer by layer. Alongside it were models created with immense patience and dedication, reflecting the precision and perseverance that design demands.

When Designs Come Alive

One of the most exciting sections of the showcase blended design with technology in an almost magical way. Designs were scanned and brought to life through mobile phones, allowing viewers to experience them from all sides, in motion and in detail. It felt less like viewing an exhibit and more like stepping inside the design itself.

This immersive experience highlighted how technology enhances storytelling, making design more interactive, engaging, and future-focused.

Tech Summer School: Where Innovation Takes Shape

The uGDX Summer School is designed for students eager to explore the future of technology in a dynamic, tech-enabled environment. Rooted in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics, the program blends innovation with problem-solving to prepare students for tomorrow’s digital world. By working across technology, design, and management, students gain early exposure to how cutting-edge ideas turn into real-world solutions—and how future tech leaders are shaped.

When the Code Learns to Walk

Among the many exhibits, one clear crowd favourite emerged—a robotic dog designed and built by a student. It didn’t just walk into the room; it walked straight into everyone’s hearts. Students and parents alike were fascinated, proving that when technology meets creativity, curiosity follows closely behind.

Business Summer School: Think Business, Lead Boldly

The ATLAS ISME Young Leaders’ Summer Program is a two-week immersive business summer school for students in Classes 8–12 who are curious about how the world of business really works. Through hands-on learning, business simulations, and real-world exposure, students explore finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, AI, and leadership—stepping into the shoes of decision-makers while building confidence, clarity, and a strong foundation for future business studies.
