The course combines the fundamental understanding of form and function with the contemporary requirements to deliver superior user experiences. Students develop an in-depth understanding of available materials, skill sets, and the wide variety of vendor capabilities & manufacturing processes.
The curriculum is rooted in skill development, technology integration, industry practices, and developing critical thinking abilities. Our Product Design program prepares students to explore disciplinary boundaries and encourages lateral thinking through courses in graphic representation and material prototyping. A unique model for collaboration with the industry encourages actively engaging in projects that focus on solving problems in the Indian market and using that to develop model solutions for global challenges..
After graduating in Product Design, one can choose to pursue consultancy-oriented roles, work in the industrial, service sector or do a stint in a design studio.
The four-year B.Des in Product Design syllabus is developed in collaboration with The Parsons School of Design. Parsons’ unique approach to interdisciplinary learning is celebrated and ranked as one of the top 3 art and design schools by QS World University Rankings by Subject. The industrial design course offers students a deeper understanding of the diverse topic of product and industrial design and builds expertise in the tools and techniques to translate their visions into products.
