We did not realise how donating a small fraction of blood can save so many lives till we educated ourselves and did our project Jeevandan. The mere joy of knowing you are impacting so many lives by just a 10 minutes process really blew our mind.

Road To Safety: DIAGIO

ROAD TO SAFETY: DIAGIO

A unique partnership between Diagio and Atlas that attempted to bring a formal and structured awareness program on ‘Road Safety' for school children.

The students of Atlas developed an interactive module covering varied aspects of responsible driving and ill effects of driving under the influence of alcohol. This project is a step towards addressing the grave issue of road safety among young adults

Potable Water With Eureka Forbes

Potable Water With Eureka Forbes

Eureka Forbes installed a water purification plant in Annabhau Sathe Nagar, Govandi to provide access to clean and healthy drinking water at subsidized prices. Our students partnered in this initiative by educating slum dwellers on the importance of clean drinking water.

Post intervention from our students the rate of absenteeism from school & workplace reduced.

Pehchaan

Pehchaan

Pehchaan is a widespread project where a lot of students across various youth organisations are recruited and trained to further train the not so privileged students who wish to move forward in life. There are training camps where these underprivileged students are given classes on general knowledge and conversational English along with skill building activities and food distribution.

Mega-Blood-Donation-Camp

Mega-Blood-Donation-Camp

RCISME in collaboration with Vishwas NGO and RCUCOE did a MEGA BLOOD DONATION DRIVE for the cancer patients present at TATA Memorial Hospital in Kandivali. Each pint of blood saves 3 lives and by getting a massive number of 150 donors, we together as a team, saved around 450 lives that day.

Mann - Together We Learn Better

Mann - Together We Learn Better

Identifying an opportunity from their past experience of conducting hobby classes for adults with speacial needs, our students collaborated with Mann.

To help them achieve financial sustainability our students offered them training and helped them learn how to make candles & chocolates.

Saathi - The NGO Mela

Saathi was divided in two parts the first half consists of community thrift, self defence workshops and Art workshops with underprivileged kids from different NGOs.

The second part was a NGO mela where around 18 NGOs were exposed to various rotarians, youth organisations and individuals that had intentions to help out these NGOs in their own ways.

Project She With DIAGEO

PROJECT SHE: DIAGEO

Diageo collaborated with us to give our students an experience of real life socio-economic problems faced by rural communities. Students were taken on field trips to Nagpur, Bhopal and Alwar, where they interacted with wash committees set up by Diageo for running their projects, members of Panchayat, community members and NGO partners.

Post this experiential visit the students wrote case studies and also made a short documentary.

Little Lights

Little Lights

This year on 3rd November, RCISME was honoured to learn through the Anandayaan foundation and the children at that love occurs in the small things. At the Salaam Baalak Trust we celebrated Diwali with over 30 children. From a skit on having a clean and green diwali, to making newspaper lanterns, to dancing our hearts off after playing games. It truly was a happy diwali.

Paathshaala

Pathshala

Pathshala was done for the children under the ‘Lighthouse’ initiative of the Rotary Club Of Bombay. It was an 8 week long online project where our team-taught 4 subjects, Math, Science, Technology and Arts, to around 30 children ranging from 8-14 years of age.

We included various topics like Photosynthesis, the transformation of machines, basic algebra, a painting session, etc.

COVID Relief

COVID Relief

While some of us are blessed to have all the necessary items needed to battle the pandemic, many people don’t.

Our volunteers went and distributed around 250 masks and 60 hand sanitizers in a Chawl near the college campus. We noticed that almost no one was wearing a mask and gently reminded everyone about the repercussions of avoiding the usage of these items.

55 Waala Bachpan

55 Waala Bachpan

Our project 55 Wala Bachpan required an OC team which was assembled, to give our 70 year old kids an experience of a lifetime. Exciting activities like housie, painting pots and jamming sessions with our audience at the event. Our impact, which was to help relieve the elderly women's tiring days by taking them back to their childhood times, we as a team believe was a major success!

Tata Way: Tata Memorial Hospital

Tata Way: Tata Memorial Hospital

Students regularly visited Tata Memorial hospital and held confidence building sessions with Teenage and Young adult (TYA) cancer survivors.

They also created support groups of patients and survivors along with the care givers. Apart fromthis, students also carried out an advocacy program in schools, colleges and offices to spread awareness about discrimination against cancer patients and survivors.

Community Fridge

We encourage nearby localities to fill the fridge with their leftover fresh food, and passersby who don’t wish to beg but are hungry, take whatever food is available.

The fridge is located in Andheri as of now, feeding and changing lives. We aim to stop people from throwing away food.

Flea Fella

Flea Fella

We started the project by welcoming NGO kids at the flea, showing them around the stalls and then playing games like Memory Game, Numbers Hotspot, Twisted Dog and the Bone, and more. These games helped them build skills such as critical thinking, strengthened memories and reflexes; all while bringing a smile on their face. They even got some goody bags and food hampers, courtesy to the stall owners.

Pawscue

Pawscue

We found out that dogs were meeting with accidents due to poor street lighting conditions. We wanted to help the dogs and to save as many as possible.

A team of 19 people, divided into smaller teams, covered 4 areas in Mumbai and collared 110 street dogs with reflective bands, collars which reflect light. We also fed them so that they become comfortable with us and let us collar them.

Anti Tobacco Campaign: Bajaj

Anti Tobacco Campaign: Bajaj

The students partnered with Bajaj Electricals in a drive where they were initially given a training on the ill effects by an anti-tobacco specialist. After which they did background study on the work done for anti tobacco awareness by the government ,corporates and NGOs. Finally, basis their research the students created a module and a short documentary on tobacco awareness which was implemented in various public schools.

Unnati

Unnati

Unnati was a one-day project aimed at enhancing skill development, discipline, critical thinking, and time management in the tribal children of Mumbai. Unnati also aided in the development of confidence and creativity.

This was accomplished by a three-part programme, which comprised Warli Art Painting, Self-Defense Lessons, and Community Thrift.

Bhavishya Yaan: STEM Project

Taste Of Home

Students of ATLAS,working in collaboration with Rotary Club, Mumbai have created a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) based module for the Bhavishya Yaan programme of Rotary Club.

Bhavishya Yaan is a skills enhancement programme for the less privileged children studying at municipal schools. Our students believe that information about STEM should be shared with municipal schools as well, as STEM education is the future.

Sabka Clinic

Sabka Clinic

A quarterly initiative wherein we conduct free health checkups every quarter for this quarter we started out with free eye checkup.

We successfully carried out an eye check-up for 130+ students and staff aged 9 to 12 and 40 to 60 respectively from the Hindi medium section of Poisar School No 3. with the help of 17 OC members and 4 doctors.
